hack@wpi

hack@wpi is a hackthon conducted at WPI from Jan 22 to Jan 24, 2016. I participated in the event with my friend. After brainstorming on the first day when we couldn't come up with an idea for a project, I decided to learn Android App Development.

I started learning Android App Development from the course Android Development for Beginners on Udacity.com on the morning of second day. To challenge myself and push out of my comfort zone, I decided to finish the course in a single day by watching the videos at 2 times the normal speed.

My Android development journey started with the conventional "Hello World!" app and second app I built was a Happy Birthday Card app.

After building these two apps. We delved deeper into making the apps interactive and built a simple app to order coffee, with options for adding ingredients and displaying the final order with the click of the button. And finally by the end of the day I built an app named Court Counter to keep track of scores of two basketball teams in a match.
